Becket Fund President and General Counsel Anthony Picarello appeared on the Fox News Channel's Fox News Live on October 16. Picarello debated Barry Lynn of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State on the right of religious leaders to speak freely on political issues from the pulpit.
"Religion informs people's values and values inform people's votes," Picarello explained. "At the Becket Fund, our view is that the amount of involvement is up to the churches and, most emphatically, not up to the state, not up to the IRS." Picarello also appeared on ABC's World News Tonight to discuss the same issue.
